Exciting News

Guess what...ok, I'll tell you. First off, no I'm not pregnant. Ok, now for the news. We are heading south folks...for good!...soon. Lane has accepted a job in Alice as with a CPA firm there. They are doing great and have made him a great off that has wonderful long term potential. We are so very excited, nervous, scared...etc. We know God has us in his grip and really felt that this was the direction he intended for us. We will be closer to the ranch and able to help my parents and hopefully live in the country somewhere. We don't have living arrangements lined up yet, but we are taking it one step at a time. First things first is to get this house SOLD! We are working at a mad pace to get it ready to list ASAP. With prayers from you and a little luck it will sell soon.

Of course, Lena Kate is oblivious to the impending change. As long as you feed the girl some berries, she's happy as a lark. Now Missy...she's clueless too. Lane and I have some bittersweet feelings over it all. We are very happy to be out of the big city and closer to our dream of country living, but we will really, really, really miss our family and friends in San Antonio. Hopefully we'll have a fun place for everyone to come visit!

Better Late Than Never

I'm so blessed and thankful to have a sweet, precious, healthy, happy, brilliant :) little girl to call my own. Um, no, I'm not the least bit biased or proud...but thanks for asking. I'm also so blessed and thankful to have a wonderful husband who works hard everyday so that I can stay home and raise my little protige as he calls her. Finally, I'm so blessed and thankful to be surrounded by loving family! God is good.

Is it Easter?.....oh well, I can't wait to share this!

It's not Easter, you say? Oh well, I think this is appropriate any time of year and thought I'd share for those of you that don't follow the Rigg's family blog (Brent posted this a few days ago).

These two little guys are sooooo precious-check out God's creations at their best! I can't wait for Lena Kate to do something like this...of course if she got her parent's lack of singing ability she might not be as good as these two...but I'll LOVE to listen anyway.

Berry Sweet!

Lena Kate LOVES berries....strawberries, raspberries, blackberries. She is not picky...now those peas and carrots...she does NOT love them. As a matter of fact, she very much dislikes them. Daddy says let her eat what she likes...so berries, mac and cheese, and turkey is OFTEN on the menu at our house.

Dancie Dancie!

This weekend we make a very quick trip to Houston for one of my good friends wedding. The Laechelin family is from Mathis where I grew up and we've known them forever. BJ Laechelin got married this weekend. He was my age and went to A&M too. Lena Kate was a good traveler and had a blast at the wedding. She was a big hit and danced all night. She loved the band and hanging out right by their speakers...her poor ears! She was up well past her bedtime but was a real trooper.

She got a sticker for getting her flu shot booster. She didn't even cry! She curled her bottom lip and her eyes welled up...no noise at all...and then she was fine. She's a tough little girl:)

We had a wonderful weekend that included a very quick trip to Houston for a wedding Sat. night. We really enjoyed visiting with lots of old friends and, of course, the bride and groom were beautiful and handsome. Lena Kate was a party animal staying up way past her bedtime without fussing. She LOVED dancing to the live band. I got some cute pictures which I'll post later in the week.

Unfortunately, my back is now driving me crazy. I have an recurring injury/pain that flaired up and the 6 hour round trip road trip was a tough one, but worth it. Hopefully, it will be all better tomorrow.

Impromptu Playdate Fun

We had an impromtu playdate on Monday. It was such a pretty day and everybody wanted to get out for awhile. The kids had tons of fun playing at Dynamoze. It is a nice indoor playgroud for kiddos....and the best part is they are free until one year of age. We must take advantage of it often these next two months.

Lena Kate was getting a push from Cata and some other child whose mother thought this place was for letting your kid do whatever they want while you play on the computer.

Cousin Charles and Aunt Amy came too but he was too fast to get a good picture of! We played for 3 hours and Lena Kate too a good nap that afternoon. We can't wait to do it again soon.

Happy Birthday Catalina

This weekend we ventured over to the Lozada's for Catalina's first birthday party. Lena Kate and Cata are great buddies and us mommies have a great time getting together often as well. Cata's Mommy and Daddy did a great job. There was a strawberry hunt (eggs), cupcakes, pinatas, a bounce house and lots of yummy food. Cata also got lots of fun toys. The kiddos and parents had a great time and the weather was perfect. Thanks to the Lozada's for having us.
