Beach Vacation

This year we decided to stay close for our family vacation since I was going to be very pregnant.

You see, photographic evidence of Ainlsee in my belly. Lena Kate took this picture. You will not see any full body shots of me...sorry. I just don't feel pretty with all this extra weight, so a belly shot will have to suffice!

That being said, we ventured a little over an hour down the road to Port Aransas. We stayed at Port Royal and had a great time. In short, Lane chased Lena Kate and swam with her while I watched from the side. I wasn't about to don a swimsuit in this condition. I was the beached whale. We had a nice condo and spent each day at the beach and pool, lunch and a nap in the room, more beach or pool, followed by dinner out. We started our adventure off with a trip to the Texas State Aquarium on Wednesday morning and lunch at Blackbeard's. LK loves the aquarium-thus the annual membership renewal.

Here are tons of pictures from our adventure. If you don't make it to the end, I understand! I'm still working on the picture taking skills...most of my beach pics were too light. I need to learn to shoot in the manual mode because I don't have the fancy editing software and editing with my camera software is not so easy for me. I'll get there...eventually!

Butterface
The girl loves her some butter.

Jammies and floaties, safe to say she was ready to go swimming!

My little fishy!
There was a little pouting

she was not done yet.
Hydration time

The seaweed was exceptionally bad...but we worked around it.

Run, baby, run

More running!

Whatch you looking at?!

Awww, my favorites.

Ainslee makes another appearance!

She's a CORN EATER!

Dad always said I could eat corn through a picket fence....not nice, but true. I love sweet corn right out of the field. Yesterday we raided Uncle Ray's field and came home with a nice bag. Unfortunately there isn't enough this year to "put up" We usually get all together and freeze many, many, many bags off the cob. Sadly, it was just too dry to produce much.

Lena Kate obviously enjoys corn on the cob as much as Mommy does.

Praise God for the rain yesterday!

5 years ago today

Five years ago today I was 24 hours away from marrying my best friend and soul mate. It was a glorious day filled with a proper bridesmaids' luncheon, a rehearsal, a rehearsal dinner, and after "partying" in the parking lot of the "classy" motel where everybody stayed.
Let's start out with the classiest part of the day. All the girls loaded up and headed to Corpus to a bridesmaids' luncheon. It was hosted by my aunt and we had pretty little silver teapot place settings and a fun lunch with the girls. Here I am holding my 6 pence for my shoe.
Here we are looking so young at our rehearsal dinner.
Best man and his now wife and maid of honor. LOVE THESE PEOPLE!
The church pre-wedding. This is the church I grew up in. My parents were married here as well. Now that we are back down South you may recognize that this is the church we are once again attending!
Now here is where it gets a little "classy". Mathis is a small town and there are not so many options on places to stay. We decided that it would be more convenient to be close rather than having luxury. It turned out to be so much fun. Where else can you all hang out in the parking lot and take over a motel. Go ahead, giggle a little.
There was baby hugging going on, and that is my MIL to the right of me...she was wanting babies already!
Judson got a haircut in the parking lot-more class...but he looked purty for the wedding-thanks Carla!
Excited for the big day ahead.
Yes, they had to drink Lone Star.
Oops we are out of order...but here we are before the luncheon.
My maid of honor Sarah and the bride-to-be-ME!
This was our handsome little ring bearer.
My MOH standing in for me at rehearsal...we didn't plan to dress alike...and nope, we are not sisters :)
I'll never forget this wonderful day....but the best was yet to come!
Stay tuned for wedding day fun tomorrow! I can't believe 5 years has flown by. I love my husband more every day. I'm so blessed to be loved by him and his family.

Time flies when you are having fun!

Five years ago today I married my soul mate. I plan to write a fun post but want to get this one up for now so I can take a nap...ahhhhh, a nap sounds great.
Happy 5 year anniversary Lane. I love you with all my heart!
