Update on the girlies

So I am such a slacker! I am blogging from my phone.

Thought I would give a little update on the girls.

Lena Kate is now a big preschooler and loves it. She goes twice a week and her favorite part is music time. She is learning so much already and sings new songs all the time. She loves her school friends and wants them all to come to her house. When she plays at home she always plays with her classmates, whether her babies or toy dogs are named after them. It is so cute. I am learning about the other kids just by how she plays. Yesterday when i picked hecup the teachers were still cracking up because they went over their parent's names and she was adamant that we were "Uncle Lane and Aunt Elaine" not Lane and Elaine. She loves her cousin Charles so much so what he calls us must be right. Another day when I went to pick her up a little boy was about to cry. Apparently he did not want her to leave, because he gave her a hug and kiss on the cheek as we were leaving....and so it begins. Lena Kate is a talker so i can only imagine what the other mothera hear about her. She is never quiet. We love out turkey biscuit.

Ainslee is growing up too and talking away. She is trying to say tons of words, loves Papa, and calls her "sister" dodo (long o sound like the bird. It is so funny. When LK is at school A will call her name looking for her to play with. They love each other so much. Ainslee makes Lena Kate cry more than the opposite these days pulling hair or taking something away. Ainslee is learning so much. When we go to the store in the morning I let the girls have a donut on the way home. The other day they didn't have fresh donuts so I didn't get one and after I put Ainslee in her car seat she looked at me expectantly and asked, "donuh?". She already knows she usually gets a donut. She was fine without, but I was impressed that she knew after only having one about 3 times. She is still tiny and a finicky eater at 17 lbs on a good day. She will grow up soon enough is how I see it:). Did I mention she is in to everything? I have to watch that one. She still melts my heart by climbing into my lap for hugs and love often-sure hope that doesn't ever end!

Ranch Weekend

A few weeks ago we spent a great weekend at the C- Ranch with Chili and Carla, and several other couples that Lane and Chili have remained friends with over the years.  We had a great time visiting and enjoyed the clouds and rain on what would've been a miserably hot weekend otherwise.  The girls had another girl, Gianna, that was Lena Kate's age, and 6 yr old Tarin to play with. They had tons of fun watching movies and playing outside.  I even got a run in each day, so the splurging on great food wasn't really splurging:)

Lena Kate would not be still long enough to cooperate for pictures, so Ainslee makes this post!  I got some cute ones of her.

We hope to keep this tradition up so the kids will know each other growing up.

Bloys Campmeeting 2012

After a one year hiatus, we returned to Ft. Davis, TX for the Annual Bloys Campmeeting.  We plan to return every summer.  Each year hundreds of mostly the same families make their way to far West Texas for a week of worship, fellowship, and family.  It is just a wonderful, uplifting time.  The kids have a blast as well as the adults.  God sure blesses this gathering.

We stayed in a cabin with Lane's Aunt Kelley and Uncle Chip as well as BFF/Cousin Chili and Carla and their boy Cinco.  There was lots of porch sitting and shuffling of duties so we could all attend the various services.  This year Lena Kate got to go to Mable Bloy/s Sunday School.  They sang great songs, read a story and had craft time.  She loved it.  Her favorite song was "I'm in the Lord's Army"  I'm so glad we listen to Bible Songs in the car because she knew most of the songs they sang which helped get her warmed up.  She is still singing daily.  Ainslee had a great time playing at the cook shed and getting dirty!  She even had a little love interest that followed her everywhere.

After campmeeting we headed back to San Angelo to spend some time with Leelee and Paw.  We had a great time visiting with them for a few days and getting to celebrate Paw's birthday while we were there.  Lena Kate loved going swimming at Bentwood CC's new pool.  The girls are so blessed to have such wonderful grandparents!  We love you Leelee and Paw and wish we could see y'all more often.

I am happy to say that I was even able to lose 1.5 lbs while on vacation!  I stuck to my 1200 calorie diet for the most part and jogged just about every day.  I did indulge in brownies and creme brulee, so I was a happy girl:)

 Cinco got a bucket bath!
The Crew-so much fun!
 Wagon rides!
 Making friends-Grace loved Lena Kate
Nothing sweeter than a child praying
Except a room full of children praying!
 Not following along
 Riding Bucky on the porch
Swinging in the baby swing, dirty faced as usual.
 Blowing Mama kisses
 Pooped out Cinc
 Pooped out Ainslee
 Chilling with Uncle Chip
 Great Kelley loves our girls!

We look forward to many years of memories at Campmeeting as well as time spent with Leelee and Paw in San Angelo on the way there and back.  Thanks be to God for getting us all there and back safely!

Summer

Nothing much new around here. The temperature has finally dropped a bit with some rainy days although we have had little rain here. The girls love playing outside.

Ainslee goes to the door and moos at the cows. She knows a cow says moo, says "DAA" when she is all done. She was walking down the isles at Cavender's hollering "DaDa!" trying to find him-so cute. Baby girl is still tiny and only wearing size 12 months if it is a hand me down and been washed bunches. She has this new thing with crossing her arms, personality coming out! She will blow kisses and pat-cake rolling and all. She likes to push and whack on Lena Kate. Big Sister takes it pretty well. Ainslee loves baby dolls and carrying bags:). What a joy she is.

Lena Kate is growing up! She is sassy and silly. Lately when you ask her what she wants to eat, she says chicken nuggets and dog. I have no idea where that came from. She has picked up on me asking, "really???". I am not sure I like her asking,"really, Mom, really?". I guess I asked for that one. She is excited about her birthday already even though it is not until December 19th. She now knows that is her birthday. She sends her cousin fake invitations daily. Lena Kate is all about infomercials. If she sees an infomercial, she wants it-Stompees, night light blanket, glow pillow pet, and a sea creature build-a-bear. I wonder what it will be 5 months from now.

I love my two girls!!!

I have made three things worth mentioning-a delicious and simple fudge pie, homemade granola and a recipe swap recipe for fried okra salad-soo good. I will post the pie over on my recipe blog as well as the fried okra salad from Tori over at www.scoutsmithscoop.blogspot.com. Jennifer over at www.ranchgirl09.blogspot.com hosted a recipe swap and I was paired with Tori. I have enjoyed getting to know her through her blog and surely enjoyed the first recipe I tried. I have 2 more to make yet. Can't wait!

I made the coconut granola from Tasty Kitchen and with the following as basic ingredients it had to be tasty: unsweetened coconut, oats, cashews almonds, cinnamon, butter, brown sugar, vanilla, dried fruit and chocolate chips. I used a dried berry mix and also added about a 1/2 cup of rice krispies to see if they added extra crunch. I LOVE this granola. Probably not the healthiest out there, but I don't eat too much at a time. I top my new favorite Greek yogurt (coconut flavored) with it. I really love to eat ot plain to get all the flavor, but am I the only one that can't eat yogurt if it isn't crunchy?

I also crocheted a cute owl purse last week for Lena Kate, and included a picture. I think they may be this year's repeat project to sell before Christmas.

Now for a few shots of my monkeys!
