How bout a pout

Lena Kate has definitely learned to pout, and sadly, I think it is so cute! When she is in full on pout mode she sits on the floor with her legs out straight in front of her, crosses her arms and tucks her head down. Sometimes the lip even comes out and she proclaims, "Tiiii, tiiiii" (tired). Other times she just crosses her arms and tucks her head and turns away. OH, THE DRAMA :)
Speaking of pouting, I tried a little dress on her that was mine when I was a baby(Mom made it). I wanted to see if I thought it would fit next Spring. She wasn't happy about it.
Go ahead and laugh at my face while you are at it.

She is quite the little handful on occasion, such as when we were at the bank this morning. Lena Kate was running all over the place laughing and hollering at who knows what. If anybody knows how to get an almost-two-year old to sit still and quiet for a total of 30 seconds, please, do tell!
Let's end on a happier note!
She wanted me to move so she could see Dora.
No, Mama!
Ok, one more if I have to.

Rainy Days

It has been super rainy here the last couple of days, and by that I mean everything is under water! I'm glad we live on a hill. The rain gauge was overflowing at noon and it is still coming down. We ventured up to San Antonio Friday evening so we could spend Saturday morning with Lane's parents and his brother and sis-and-law. We enjoyed a fun lunch at Rainforest Cafe and, of course, Lena Kate came home with a new baby doll, a bear from the hotel giftshop, and a souvinier cup. Thanks Leelee and Grandpa. We all love that girl so much. She also finally has an official name for Grandpa Gary, and calls him that. He is now officially "Pa" (pronounced Paw). She grabbed him by the hand several time and took him for several walks down the Riverwalk. She knows he'll go anywhere she leads! I think Leelee was anxious for them to get back every time she hauled him off. I don't blame her:) I know we'd all like to see each other more often. I didn't bring my camera, so I didn't get any pictures this trip! I can't wait for my good camera to get back from the shop.

Here is how we pass the time around here these days.

We read to our babies:) (she did this all on her own)
...and we eat ice cream and drink the melted part. Good to the last drop!
Have a blessed week!

Play time with Mariella

A couple of weeks ago I met Heidi and her sweetie Mariella at Mini Town for some play time for the girls and visiting time for the moms while I was in San Antonio. I'm not sure who had a better time, the minis or the Mamas

Shopping

I did not help her chose her items, take note of what she chose:
Milk, juice, ICE CREAM (several), shampoo, dried fruit, and yogurt-all her favorites!

Lena Kate did a little ironing..too bad she can't help with Daddy's work clothes!

Washing

Jam session with Mariella

Getting down in the disco room

the splits dance

Heidi and Mariella sliding

We sure do look forward to our next trip to San Antonio. We also got to go and visit Rachel, big brother David, and new baby brother James. What a sweet family they are-we sure miss all of our San Antonio friends :)

Granny turns 89

Mom had a little party for Granny's 89th birthday last weekend. Fun was had by all and we had yummy treats including chips and dip, fruit, cookies, honey bars, and even homemade strawberry mojitos! The Grannies prefered Arbor Mist-ha! Happy birthday Granny, we love you!
Lena Kate, what are you doing?

Hard to believe she is 1 year shy of 90, isn't it?

JC's Birthday Party-sno cone and water fun included

Isn't the birthday boy JC precious! He and Lena Kate have a good time playing together.

An attempt to get a pic of all the kids at a 3 year old's party. Juli has Lena Kate...all you see is the back of her head.

Silly swimmer

Decked out in her boots

Weeeee
Mmmm, cake

LK prefered her sno-cone with none of the good stuff.

It isn't a party until somebody gets squirted in the head with cherry snocone syrup! She didn't seem to mind except that it interfered with her eating her ice.
We spent the week helping Juli bake cookies, cupcakes and making dino suckers. It was such a fun time, and I didn't manage to take a picture of them, but I did eat several at the party. I can't wait to do it again soon. I'm so blessed that God gave me such a wonderful friend to get to know down here.

Football time!

Lena Kate, who are you cheering for?! We all hope the Aggies have a good season :)

Lena Kate was feeling frisky the other day and was actually hamming it up for me. She DOES not do this often. I pull out the camera and she usually says, "NO NO NO!"

Happy weekend!
