Goings On

Thanks for the prayers for little Corley, he's doing great and hopes to be going home soon. GOD IS GREAT AND THE ALMIGHTY ONE! When an accident happens to someone you love so dearly, or really anybody you hear about, it makes you just hug your babies a little tighter...go grab your munchkin now and plant a few kisseroos on them.

We've played alot this week, which is nothing out of the ordinary for us. We also had our first South Texas play date-yea! Julie and little JC Laechelin came over after she got off work and they kiddos played. JC is 2, so he was more into playing with LK's toys than Lena Kate herself, which is fine. Lena Kate just loved to watch him with wide-eyes. He's a precious boy with lots of energy and and loved her shopping cart. I really enjoyed getting to visit with Julie and just have a good conversation in between wrangling kiddos with someone in the same stage of life as myself. I miss my San Antonio girls and their babes so it was sure nice to work on building a new relationship down here.
Young lady, I don't think you belong in the coffee table.
But Mama, I fit just fine. I'll get out in a minute
Lovin Missy...poor Missy. I guess she gets everything that dog deserves!

Yea for visitors :)
Love those eyelashes-LK's, not Missy's

You kinda smell like food and I LOVE FOOD
Daddy's boots are her security blanket, Lena Kate plays with them every day, and usually leaves a surprise in one of them for him...tehe...brush, ball, spoon, cereal. I do not remove them. This day she decided to take a little rest on the boot. SILLY GIRL.

Lena Kate is also excited because Cousin Charles is coming for the weekend at Mimi and Papa's! I think we may bake a bear cake for him. He got us a build-a-bear pan for Christmas and have been waiting for him to come so we could use it.`
Hope yall have a blessed day!

Please Pray-Updated...He's doing great!

Please pray for this precious boy. His mother is my husband's 1st cousin. There was an accident and he fell in the creek this afternoon. Corley is 2.5 years old and has an older brother, younger sister, and 2 wonderful loving parents. They are Christian believers in their Heavenly Father and could really use His protection tonight and all the prayers that you can muster. I do not know the details other than he was given CPR, revived and did wake and recognize his parents at some point. He is being flown to Cooks Children's Hospital in Ft. Worth from San Angelo as the doctors felt it was a better place for him to be. We've heard that that it was precautionary, so hopefully that is good news to start. I pray that I will come to you with wonderful news on his recovery tomorrow, I hope you'll join me in prayer.
*UPDATED*
GOD IS GREAT! Corley is doing great this morning and they hope to be going home soon.

Tasty Fun Weekend

We had a great weekend and enjoyed the weather. Friday night we went to the Annual Swinney Switch Volunteer Fire Department Fish Fry. Lena Kate was such a good girl and ate a good dinner...including all my french fries in addition to the turkey, cheese, and pears I packed her. She was a little ham as usual flirting and enjoying herself RUNNING around.

Saturday we spent the day in Corpus shopping and piddling around while Papa attended a continuing education class for dentists. He is now an advocate for melatonin supplements and sleeping in a completely dark room. The later I can attest to. Go on a cruise and stay in an inner cabin and you will have some of the best sleep ever.....or maybe that was the beverages I may or may not have consumed. Um, I'm going with the total darkness theory. I got a new belt and dress that will look so cute with my boots...now I just need an occasion to wear them. Mom also got me two cute tops for my birthday coming up in 2 weeks-THANKS MOM! Lena Kate did really well considering we were gone from before 8 and not back until after 6. She just doesn't' like to ride in carts or her stroller very long. That girl loves to be on her own two feet. The ladies at Chico's loved her.

Sunday we stayed home and just enjoyed having LK's Dada home from work. Being tax season he's already working 6 days a week and long hours. We miss him but understand and are so blessed that he works so hard for us. The weather was BEAUTIFUL and we played around outside most of the afternoon.

Hey Lena Kate, show Mama your belly!

Finally some hair clips she'll leave in her hair.

Pioneer Woman's Homemade Pizza-ok, not hers, but her recipe. This was all ours, baby.

Swinney Switch Fish Fry

She looks scared, but I thought it was cute. LK is the spitting image of her father-good thing he's a cutie.
Homemade copycat Macaroni Grill Bread....rosemary, salt, olive oil...larger hips...
The bread made a great gourmet burger bun.

This little ham is STANDING on the seat of her giraffe, RIDE-(not stand) on toy. She is quite the acrobat with some outstanding balance...right before I raise my voice a little to tell her to SIT I snapped this picture. Notice Missy is usually not far behind...she secretly likes Lena Kate.

Ranch Chicken and Potatoes.....Ranch dip mix, sour cream, potatoes, cheese, bacon, chicken..need I say more?! I know, I know...not a lot of healthy food choices the last week, but they were oh so worth it.
I hope your weekend was blessed by the Lord, I know ours sure was.
PS: To all of those I just made hungry, sorry...I made myself hungry too. I think I'll go have a blond brownie to top it all off. No, I didn't take a picture of those, but I did bake them.

She fears no dirt!

I had the brilliant idea to wash my car on Sunday afternoon...Lena Kate decided she really wanted to help. At one point, before I had my camera, I caught her on all fours trying to lick up the soap bubbles.

Yes, that is dirt on her face.

Mooooooing at the cows. She also makes this face now to pucker up for a kiss.

Fantastic

That is how I'd describe our weekend. Lane sent me flowers, chocolate, and bath soaps on Thursday. I love these flowers because they last so long, they are even prettier now that they have fully opened.

Don't let this fool you...she just didn't want to wear the apron, she wanted you to see her cute outfit:)

Just one more, I'm sorry I think this is so sad and cute at the same time. Mama, NOT FAIR..I don't want to wear it...sorry Aunt Amy, maybe next year?

Ok Mama, that is better, I'm a heartbreaker for sure
My precious Valentine

Blowing YOU kisses!

My Granny has a Publisher's Clearinghouse problem. She really thinks that if you order something she will have a better chance of winning....we've told her she doesn't. Mom has to really watch her to keep from ordering too much. She said she remembered me saying I wanted one of these...don't remember saying that, but secretly I did think it would be fun. Guess what I got for my birthday..a few weeks early! Mom couldn't stop her this time. It made perfect little brownies-no messy cut lines...seriously people, this is too fun. It would make great perfect individual cakes...yes, I know those are cupcakes, but they would be square..I could get creative-watch out.

Dr. Pepper cake - one of the best cakes - EVAH!

YUMMY! Here are all the goodies we made.....Mom made the cookies, I added the details and made all the others. We had a baking morning at Granny's and then Dad helped make chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes and gravy...should've got a picture of our plates.
The strawberries have a surprise inside-cheesecake filling!
Lena Kate's first time down for Children's time. She wasn't paying attention-surprise, surprise. We had LOTS of kids in church Sunday. Usually there are only 2 0r 3. This was nice to see. Pastor Patti had balloons for the kiddos too.
LK's sweet friend Katie. She was patting her hair and gave her a hug right after this.
Helping at the church luncheon...carrying a box as big as she is...one of her favorite hobbies. She got this precious dress for her birthday from Cousin Charles' Aunt Candy (aunt on the other side :) It fits her perfect and has cute pockets in the front with red and gold buttons.

Mom, this is how you wash a car. Lena Kate had such fun "helping" Mama wash her car. She was filthy-head to to. For some silly reason she thought the soap bubbles were tasty and even got down on her hands and knees to try to lick it up off the driveway - YUK! This messiness is worthy of it's own post later in the week...she was such a mess, but loved every minute of it. I tell you in all honesty she is already a tomboy at 1 year old, a sweet loving tomboy that sure looks cute in a dress and bow. Oh, and she looks cute all messy and dirty too!

There was some Daddy daughter time too. Lane had just come home from riding, see the tall boots and spurs? That is my Cowboy Lane!
We had a wonderful weekend making goodies and then churching it yesterday. After church we came home and just enjoyed the afternoon outside. It was a beautiful day. Last night I made a nice dinner of fried shrimp, fried zuchinni and pasta alfredo. It was tasty for sure. We have a tradition of cooking fried shrimp for Valentine's dinner and just enjoying ourselves. I think we've been doing it for 4 or 5 years now. I hope we keep up this tradition. Lane is such a wonderful Valentine everyday and we are so blessed.

Missy even had a Valentine since she stole 2 brownies and a cookie. A little someone helped pull the plate on the floor...wonder who that little heartbreaker could've been.
