Overdue Update

I think it is past due to update you all on Lena Kate and what she is up to.

The girl is a jabberbox these days and stringing all kinds of words together. Here are some of her favorite phrases.

Ce Now - cereal now - corrected to cereal please! She got the "now" from me, in the last few days I've even heard, "right now"...um, nope we need to work on that one!

Coming Doggie-she says this to Missy when she is scratching on the door to come in, copying me again

Daddy coming-Daddy is coming home!

Going/coming too- Lena Kate loves to say too...me too, coming too, going too, etc.

Go Mimi's house now - go figure.

Cute-Mommy cute, Kate cute, etc.

Woo eee, Mommy, Daddy, Mi - translates to Love you Mommy, Daddy or Missy

Sorry - she says sorry for reasons I don't even know.

Strawberry cake - she likes her Strawberry Shortcake movies and says it surprisingly well.

Lena Kate will repeat just about anything if she is in the mood. She chops alot of her words but I can understand most everything.

She is such a busy little girl and in to everything. Climb is another of her favorite words! She likes Nick Jr. and her movies, but I try to limit them some. Outside is still where she loves to be. She is a picky eater these days and sticks to "kid-type food" hot dogs, chicken nuggets, spaghettios, mac n cheese. She will eat green beans and raw carrots and broccoli. We are working in this, but it is HARD! If she doesn't want it, she will NOT eat it. I'm so thankful that LK is a good sleeper, she takes a good nap every afternoon and goes to bed at 8 pm without a fight at all and sleeps until 6:30 or 7am.

At almost 2 she is a size 18 months for bottoms, and 24 mos or 2T tops and size 5 shoes. I don't know her weight but would guess less than 25...maybe 24ish pounds at the most. She seems to be average height, but just a small build, which isn't surprising, Mimi has to take in some of her pants so the don't fall off but are long enough.

Sitting still in church is not possible yet, we struggle through the first 10 minutes before the littles go to nursery. Maybe one day she will sit still and then go entertain us with Patti for children's time. Right now she knows she gets to go play with toys soon so she won't go down for children's time.

Lena Kate also loves to take her shoes and socks off and declare her stinkies free.

We are having tons of fun and she keeps us on our toes and laughing all the time. What a personality our little girl is developing.

Cousins

Lena Kate and Cousin Charles (or Carly as LK says) sure do love each other. They have fun being together and Mr. Charles is getting better at sharing...and Lena Kate is getting worse, I'm afraid! We need to work on that. Charles was here for a few days while Gus and Amy were on a little getaway and we took the kiddos to the Aquarium. LK was more interested in running and playing, but Charles wanted to see the sharks. Fun times for sure:)

These two are a handful of God's blessings we LOVE so very much.

Tic-Teat...or Trick or Treat-however YOU say it.

Last night, after a super fun weekend in San Angelo visiting Lane's family and going to the annual roping event, we got Lena Kate AKA Pebbles all dressed up to go trick-or-treating. Here is how our evening played out.

Insert: Meltdown #2 at church. We took Lena Kate to trick-or-treat at church and she was NOT happy that Mimi wasn't there. I didn't capture this precious moment on film. She was in all out crying, throwing her head back saying NO mode. Let's just say we didn't stay long before her bag was full of candy she won't eat and we loaded up to head to Mimi and Papa's.

All is right in the world when Mimi and Papa have a bag of goodies!

I've just started to let her have a lollipop every now and they. She loses interest in them fast and I'm left with the sticky mess:)

Overall it was a fun evening-meltdowns and all. Thanks again to Mom for making her cute costume! Hope you all had a blessed Halloween too :)
