Memorial Day Weekend

We had a fun-filled weekend starting on Thursday when Gus, Amy, and the favorite Cousin Charles arrived.  Lena Kate and Charles played all weekend every minute they had together.  It is so fun to watch them grow so close.  Lena Kate plays "with" Charles more than any of her other friends. There must be something special about him;)

Charles turned 5 years old on Saturday and the party was at Mimi and Papa's house.  The kids and adults alike had a great time.

A cute shot with Uncle Gus.
I made the cakes:)  They were a hit and gone by the evening-when is a birthday cake gone the day of the party?!
They love to swim together.  Being early in the summer it took them a little to get used to the water again.  (I had Lena Kate swimming for one breath worth of distance again last night without the floatie.)
 Double trouble
It is an understatement to say that he enjoyed his gift!  He rode it all day long!
Partying is hard for a 2 week old baby.  Sam was a great sport.
Soccer girl had a great time too.
Big Brother John Lee swam too!
What is a party without a Popsicle?
After falling out of a power wheels a couple of weeks ago, Lena Kate wasn't to keen on riding again just yet. See her expression?
 Soccer with Daddy
 Ainslee loved riding.
This was her preferred method of transportation
Papa thought it was a good party:)

We followed this fun party with another birthday party on Sunday.  Sean O'Brien turned one and both girls had a good time playing in the water again.  We rounded out the holiday weekend with a baby shower and pickle making at the Laechelin's on Monday.  Both Ainlsee and Lena Kate were so tired they took long naps even away from home.  We made lots of fun memories with family and friends. We are so blessed and now looking forward to our baby girl turning 1 this month.  I can't believe it!!!

Week in pictures

We have had a fun week with the exception of an awful earache for me-so not cool.

We met baby Sam Biscuit (real name: Samuel Reagan) he is a precious tiny old man:), went to a birthday party, ate some Simply Cheetos-tasty btw, baked cow cookies for the birthday party, took some naps, read books, discovered bubble wrap, dressed up for church, had breakfast for dinner, grabbed mama's face while being rocked to sleep, and just had a grand ole time, in no particular order.

Miss Ainslee also had a growth check appt and she is now a whopping 15 lbs 5 oz. at 5 days shy of 11 months. She is at the 0% in weight and 28% in height. She has some birds legs she will be thankful for later in life. She looks so funny walking-practically running-around. It cracks me up that our goal is to be in the 3% range. Toothless she remains.

Yes, I am a lazy blogger. I am sure there is something more exciting to talk about, but this is my life and I love it. I-phones make things too easy.

One more note- the cinnamon roll cake on Pinterest is tasty. I made it for church this past week and the "older" folks that drink coffee and snack in the morning before the service enjoyed it greatly.

Hands up, everybody, hands up!

Now that we have a full time walker on our hands we are on the go, go, go.  She loves to walk swiftly with her hands up.  I can't believe my baby girl will be 1 in about 6 weeks.  Where did the year go? Seriously!

Little Miss Ainslee loves to wave and flirt.  She is coy and shy sometimes.  When she is home and comfortable she is a little ham.  We had a check-up this week because she was on the small side.  There she remains at a whopping 15lbs and 5 oz, pre-poop for the day (TMI).  Her doctor's goal for her is to be at 3%-haha!  She is back up to 20% on head size and 28% in height, so that eased the doctors worries since her head size was back in normal range...now if only I could fatten her up.  I'm pretty sure this isn't going to happen until she is no longer nursing, only 6 more weeks to go.

I can't get over this little gal. Her big sister is pretty great too, but refuses to stand still for a decent picture!

Yall have a great weekend, we haven't been up to much, so not much here on our end.  I guess I could find something profound to blog about, but that really isn't my style, so don't get your hopes up!

I can say that my new favorite recipe is Emeril Lagasse's giant cookie cake found on The Food Network website.  It makes the perfect tasty chocolate chip cookie cake.  Duncan Hines Classic Chocolate is the best match you are going to find for the Great AMerican Cookie Company's.  I don't think I could make a better match.  As for the white frosting, I cheated there too, but plan to try a homemade one soon.  I added about 2-3 tbs less butter than the recipe called for based on some of the reviews, but it is delicious yall!
