Maybe I got it wrong...

she should be a witch for Halloween! Actually, Mom made her the CUTEST little Pebbles Flinstone costume. I can't wait for her to wear it, complete with tiger striped goodie bag. Now I just have to figure out where we are going to take her trick or treating. I know we'll hit up Granny and Mimi and Papa. We are going to San Angelo this weekend for the Annual Roping so I think I'll pack her costume so the rest of her family can possibly see her dressed up too :)

We spend lots of time playing outside in the afternoon. This day she thought riding the broom was the thing to do. Isn't she a cute little witch?

Look how long that hair is getting!

Love those brown eyes!

Happy day to you :)

Weekend Fun

We are so blessed to have sweet friends to do things with here. Lena Kate was right in step and Lane and I followed. We were off to do kiddie rides.

Holding on to her shark

She had a look of fear through this whole ride. Juli took one for the team and rode with the littles.

What carnival is complete without a prize?!

LK loves the Laechelin's!
I can't believe I'm posting this...pantie lines, double chin and all. I did just complete 13.1 miles in 2 hours and 10 minutes so I guess they embarrassment is ok:)

Yea for crossing the finish line and Lena Kate in the far right cheering me on!
Happy Wednesday!

I did it!

Well the day finally came. I ran in the Harbor 1/2 Marathon this past Sunday. I finished in 2 hours and 10 minutes with an average of exactly 10 minutes/miles. This was my goal, so I'm very proud of myself for reaching it and not walking at all. I was pretty sore yesterday but am better this morning. It felt like I was back in high school and had 2 days worth of 2-a-days...you know the feeling-it hurts to sit on the potty...ha, tmi-sorry. Thanks again to Juli for all the support and training with me. You are awesome and I'm so blessed to have such a good friend here. I have pics Lane took on my camera and it is in the car and I'm too lazy to go get it right now. Thanks Lane, Lena Kate, Mom and Dad for coming to cheer me on as I crossed the finish line and thanks Lane for taking pics :)
It was a really great weekend overall. Lane, Lena Kate and I went to Corpus to get my running packet and pick up a few things. I got LK some new jeans at Old Navy. They are the only ones that are small enough in the waist and long enough at the same time. I'm wondering if this is a sign of problems to come in the jeans department...we'll see. Right now she wears 18-24 months jeans at ON and they fit her perfectly:) I got her some skinny jeans too, I can't wait for her to wear them. We had lunch at Logan's, got my packet and then headed home.
Saturday afternoon we met the Laechelin's in Beeville at Western Week. The kids enjoyed the big slide and a dragon rollercoaster. Poor Lena Kate had a look of terror on her face the whole time during the rollercoaster. Juli took one for the team and rode with JC and LK. I volunteered for the big slide. It was way up there and actually pretty fun! Lena Kate said "whheeeeee" most of the way down. She love that. She also enjoyed the petting zoo, but wanted to climb into the pens rather than just pet through the fence. This is no surprise for those of you that know my little climber!
I've included some pics of LK before church last week. She didn't want me to take her picture..also not a shocker.
C'mon Mommy, let's go
Aww, so sad, but look how cute she looked. Granny got Lena Kate this dress at Walmart, believe it or not. It is one of our good finds there.
reading to Doggie and Neigh Neigh on the way to church.
Have a blessed week!

Here birdie, birdie, birdie....

Dove hunting has always been one of my favorite Fall family activities adn we started Lena Kate this year. It appears she is going to be a great bird dog in the next few years. She spent most of the time in the truck with Mimi but she wasn't scared of the shotgun shots as I expected and if you ask her what the gun says, she answers, "BOOM!" What a sweet little country girl she is. I'm glad to see she is taking after her Mama. She even helped take Papa the birds to clean after the hunt. Believe it or not I shot 12 birds the next night and we quit well before sundown. My Uncle Ray gave me some good tips and they seemed to work. We've been hunting in his sesame field and birds are everywhere. I really like the thrill of pulling the trigger and actually seeing them hit the ground. I'm always surprised when I actually hit one flying through the sky:) Yes, as a matter-of-fact, I am a country girl and I love it. Here are a few shots I took..haha, no pun intended.

Chilling in Daddy's chair before we started shooting. I know, this girl needs some camo!!!

You want me to hold that bird Mimi?

Future bird dog in training ;)
Have another, Papa.
Papa, this is hard work!

A feather for you!

I have one more Mimi.

All gone.

Careful Dear.

Mimi had my camera with Lena Kate in the truck and snapped this of Papa-handsome Daddy!
Have a blessed week!

Smilin for Fall

Somebody finally decided smiling for the camera was ok-at least for one day. I'm guessing it was because of this lovely weather we are finally having. Highs in the mid-80's are my idea of perfect, most might say mid-70's or 60's, but I'm a warm kinda girl. We've been spending every evening outside playing. It is such fun family time for the 3 of us. We are so blessed to be able to run and play in the country as we wish.

Collecting "corns." Most all words are shortened to one syllable by Lena Kate. She collects acorns and brings them to me to count.
Hi pretty girl!
Cheese Mama! Love those dimples.
Lena Kate loves Misters the CAT. Misters has been earning his keep lately and killing mice and even a HUGE rat. Unfortunately he brings them to the front door for our approval.
Hope you are having a good week. Upcoming post on Lena Kate's first adventure dove hunting:)
