Superbowl Weekend

We had a nice weekend. Saturday we just hung out as a family and enjoyed the day. Sunday Trent and Nancy came over for the Superbowl. We enjoyed the game since it was a close one but being Cowboys fans we were hoping the Cardinals would win.

Saturday we were wondering how much Lena Kate weighed, so I did the old trick of weighing myself (yuck) then holding her and taking the difference. The little chunk weighs 11.5 pounds :)
She was wearing some pants that I have to retire..just too small. Lane and Trent were making fun of me for putting them on her to begin with. She had a bit of a muffintop since her belly hung over the top of her pants.

Notice the Onesie that she is wearing has her name on it. Christie (Brown) Keese made this for Lena Kate. She won't be able to wear it much longer, but what a sweet keepsake. The last pic was during the game. She isn't quite the big football fan yet.

Hanging out with Uncle Trent during supervised visits. We tease him and tell him that he only gets to hang out with LK during supervised visits so he doesn't corrupt her, but seriously he is good with kids. They usually like him. Rita (the little chihuahua) was enjoying LK too.

I know I have a million pics like this but it shows her growth since she is in the same position and takes up more room on the Boppy pillow. Her hairline looks quite funny here, you can definitely see how it is rubbed off on the side of her head in the temple area.

List for today brings out the kid in me....AHH, I'm the parent now!:
Junk foods I enjoyed as a child and wish they still made although it is probably good they don't. I really need to get back in shape and these things do not help.
I'm sure there are more, but these are the ones I can think of. I wish I could have one of each right now. None of them are healthy, but they sure were tasty.
1. Apple Fruit Roll-ups - these were so good. Now they just make crazy flavors
2. Big Red Popsicles
3. Barq's Red Creme - not sure if I spelled this correctly, but it was similar to Big Red
4. Tom's Nacho Rings - they might still make these but Tom's chips are not readily available these days.
5. Tart n' Tinies - they only make the candy coated ones now....not as good
6. Marshmallow Rice Krispies-do you remember those tiny little marshmallows?
7. Mrs. Smith's Boston Creme Pie - I guess I'm the only one that liked this one. They don't sell it at our HEB or Walmart anymore. It was good when the custard was still a little frozen
8. Andes toffee crunch chocolates-they may still make these but I haven't looked in a long time.
9. Big League Chew - nothing like bubble gum made to look like chewing tobacco -who's wonderful idea was this? Maybe that is why they don't sell it anymore, but it was tasty bubble gum.
10. Lemon Coolers - I can't find these cookies either. They were light and refreshing
Do you remember the multicolored flavored popcorn they used to sell at stockshows and crafts..what happened to this?
What snacks do you wish were still available? Did I get you thinking or just make you hungry for a guilty snack.

Your list makes me laugh. I had a flashback to the foods you used to carry in your purse. Good thing dad was a dentist!

11.5 pounds already? Wow! I love here little pants...even though they were a bit tight. Better watch out...come middle school she might prefer that look :-) But I'm sure she'll get her great sense of style from her momma!

Can't wait to see y'all on Thursday for our next playdate. Talk to you soon :-)
