3rd Anniversary Special

Last night Lane took me out to dinner at Silo Elevated Cuisine to celebrate our 3rd anniversary which is actually this Wednesday. We had a delightful dinner and great conversation. It was nice to get out and reconnect with the man I love so dearly. Lane also surprised me with a new Brighton watch. Lane takes the anniversary list of what type of item you are supposed to get for each year to heart and really gets creative. I love that he does this. Lane is not a romantic on a daily basis, but I know he really puts his heart into the gifts he gets me. The 3rd anniversary gift is leather. If we had horses, he said I would've probably got a saddle, but there will be time for one of those if/when we actually have horses:) I love my watch it is so pretty. The band is 1/2 leather and can be reversed. On the brown leather side, it is two-tone (gold and silver) and on the black side it is all silver. Did I mention I love it and my husband has great taste in jewelry? Funny thing was that we were all dressed up...well kind of dressed up and I had nice jewelry on, yet had failed to take off my digital Ironman watch, so it was perfect to open my gift and have a new watch to wear. Lane is such a wonderful husband and father. I'm very lucky to have him and look forward to many many more anniversaries.

Here is a pic of my new watch. Isn't it swwweeeeeet:) The leather is on the back side...the only part of the watch not shown in this pic!

On a not-so-special note, I have a cold. It is the first time I've been sick in awhile and it really is no fun. I can't breath or taste anything. I guess that should be helpful in keeping me from snacking since I'm not feeling like a workout is in my plans for the evening.

We watched Marley and Me this afternoon...guess who cried (and it wasn't Lena Kate or Lane, or Missy)...then I went and played with Missy. I love my doggie too. We followed up with Fireproof this evening. This was the best movie I've seen in a long time. It is refeshing to watch a movie that focuses on Christian believes being positive and that prayer and trust in the Lord is good. If you have ever had doubts about your marriage or know somebody who has-watch this movie. It is very moving.

I just want to say thank you again to Lane for such a special evening out. I love you with all my heart and more everyday! I'm so blessed that God chose such a wonderful man for my soulmate and father to my child.

(and thanks to Lena Kate for being such a good girl for Aunt Amy and Uncle Gus while we were out...and many thanks to them for babysitting!)

Sorry, I intended to get a picture taken of us..but forgot...oops.

An old college friend Charla AKA Cowgirl at Heart wrote a wonderful post on marriage and husbands over at Cowgirl at Heart and is having a giveaway. Click on over, leave a comment, read others' comments, and possibly win a cool shirt.

Heath and I are in a small group from church and we actually did the Fireproof workbook. Love Dares...I recommend buying it and it's fun to do the dares...it puts acts of intentional love back in everyday....which is nice! Happy Anniversary...I'll always know what year you are since Logan's birthday is a few weeks before!
