Focused and Blessed

I. am. blessed. I am blessed to be able to worship freely. I am blessed to be able to live in this country. I am blessed to have soldiers fighting for our freedom to remain and for the freedom of others.
I am blessed.

I am blessed to be a mother, to have my mother, and to have my mother's mother. All three are within 4 country miles from me, for now.

I am blessed.

I am blessed to have a loving husband who works so hard each and every day so that I can stay at home and raise my baby girl each and every day, and I am so very blessed to have that sweet baby girl running around my house.

I am blessed to have 2 fathers. I have the most kind hearted Earthly father. I am blessed to have a Almighty Heavenly Father with his arms outstretched to me each and every day. He surrendered all for me...and you!

I am blessed to have a home church to attend where I am loved and my family is loved.

This Sunday Pastor Patti's sermon was titled "What's Important." This was the 2nd sermon where I felt a very fundamental lesson will stay with me for a long time. The first was several months ago before we lived here and her message was about how to pray. I examined my heart and realized that I didn't really know how even though I did often. The take home for me was to not primarily pray for what we want, but to let go and pray for God's will and trust that it be in line with those things we want. Now, back to the 2nd thing I learned.

I know most of you heard about the man that set his home on fire and then flew his plane into an IRS building in Austin last week. His wife happens to be Pastor Patti's best friend, his daughter, Patti's God daughter. Needless to say she was challenged by darkness this past week, were you? Her sermon spoke about focusing on what is important. I think this has helped the Stack family among many hold it together and rise up out of despair and darkness through this entire event. If we all take time to consciously realign our thoughts and actions with what is important, be it acting like a good Christian in all times, family, or helping friends or someone you don't even know. Focus on what is important. What Patti didn't have to say is exactly what is important. I think this may be a little different for each of us, but I know it should center on God's will for each of our lives. I know that I don't focus often enough.

I am challenging myself to make a conscious effort to focus on what is important in my life this week. If something weighs heavy on your heart, maybe Patti's sermon, or even just the title, "What's Important" will have an impact on you too.

I started this off with a few things I'm so very blessed with and I know these are some things that are important to me.
One thing I'll focus on!

Excellent thoughts, girl! We all have SO much to be thankful for. Life is short, and we need to remember we are given one day at a time. Live each day to the fullest and never be ashamed to share the hope within us!

Well Said. Among many things, I feel blessed to have such a special daughter-in-law who is such a great mother to my granddaughter and wife to my son. Thank you!
