Lane gave Lena Kate her first bottle last night. She took it like a champ-she's an over-achiever:)
I have to say it was weird to see her eating without looking up at me with those happy eyes as she searches for her dinner, but wonderful at the same time to see her Daddy love her and feed her. I think they could be best friends soon enough.
Until then, there is Missy. I'm not sure best friend is quite the way to describe it, but Missy has definately accepted Miss Lena Kate as part of our family. As long as she still gets fed and love pets she is content. She will snuggle up to her when she is sleeping and occassionally sniff her head and give her a kiss or two. It is safe to say that LK can sleep through noise. As most of you know Missy can snore like a freight train-VERY LOUDLY, so much that we can hear her through the bedroom door when she is on the couch at night. Last night Missy snuggled up next to Lena as she took a nap in my arms. Missy proceeded to snore in her ear and LK didn't even budge. She must find it soothing, who knows, but the pic is one of my new favorites.
Lena Kate is growing, growing, growing. She has graduated up to size 1 diapers and I've already had to put away some newborn outfits that she can't wear anymore. It is bittersweet. We are blessed to have a healthy growing girl, but it is sad to see her getting so big already. Time sure does fly with a little one. I can't wait for her next first, but yearn for the passing days to remain. Hopefully big smiles are on the way. Until then, we'll keep looking for those few she decides to share with us.
