4 Months Old

Lena Kate turned 4 months old this past Sunday. Time sure flies when you are having fun. I am so blessed to have a happy healthy...not-to-mention beautiful :) daughter. LK had her doctors appt on Monday and she is a whopping 14.02 lbs and 24.5 inches..if I recall the height correctly. I personally think she is taller..they don't really "stretch" her to her full length in my opinion...oh well. She is in 61% in height, weight and head size, so no worries there. Dr. McCray said she was "perfect." I knew this, but it is fun to have her doctor confirm, once again she said she'd keep her if I'd let her. I said, "No, thank you."

We are going to try rice cereal again next week to see if she takes it better than she did last week....once we are good with that, we will move on veggies - won't that be fun!

As much as I want her to stay small, she does seem to be getting more fun each month. This month Lena Kate really likes to stand with help for balance. She rolls all over the floor-oh no, mobile already! I am not sure I like that. If you put your arm behind her feet when she is on her stomach, she will push and move herself forward....crawling may not be too far off. She grabs anything and everything in her reach-hair, ears, lips, nose, necklaces..glasses if you wear them.. she doesn't discriminate. LK is enjoying Daddy more and more everyday and loves for him to make faces at her when he gets home. In the evenings we sit on one couch and she will look over and wait for Daddy to look back at her. It is like a game. Daddy also likes to get on the floor and roll around and play with her. I think he is enjoying her more and more too as she has gotten older and more interactive. She has also really taken an interest in Missy - watch out doggie! Missy seems to take it all in stride. She has so many new tricks, it is hard to list them all. Did I mention sucking her toes, yes, she is talented:)

To keep from repeating myself too much I'll just wrap up by noting that the unending feeling of bliss that Lena Kate and motherhood has brought me is amazing and such a blessing. I'm in awe of what a sweet little being God has entrusted me with and can't wait to see what the next month has in store for us. Hopefully it will include a full nights sleep, but if not, that is ok too. Middle of the night feedings also bring middle-of-the-night grins at Momma.

I don't think I posted all of these. Here she is with no shirt on after cereal time and being cleaned up...somewhat. She still needed a bath!
