Easter Weekend

We had a wonderful Easter weekend with family. On Friday Lane's parents came into town and they treated us to a delicious Italian dinner out. Then on Saturday Lena Kate and I met my parents out for a little shopping. Mom treated me to a new spring outfit for Easter - I didn't want her to do it, but my mother enjoys shopping for me...I just know it. I could say no, but it is almost as if it would hurt her feelings. I was so excited that I was able to get a size 6 pants. Three pounds to pre-baby weight and 5 pounds by July 1st and I'll win my bet. I KNOW I can do it. Anyway, back to Saturday. Leslee, Nancy, Amy and Charles met us out for lunch. Then we went back to the house to relax before dinner. It sounds like all we did was eat! We all went out to Wetmore Smokehouse for a fun dinner out. My brother works alot so he doesn't get to see Lena Kate too much, so he was quick to grab her up for some time with his niece. He is so cute with babies. There were beverages had and large chicken fried steaks ordered. We all left miserably happy. We've decided we will go back. It was a good place to take kiddos. Charles enjoyed playing in the Kid's Corral. On Sunday we all got up and met for church to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. We sang "The Lord of the Dance" and it is a peppy song. I think this was the highlight for Lena Kate and I...although my voice is terrible it was such a "fun" hymn. Lena Kate was an angel. She slept most of the time:) Mimi was exhausted after the hour of trying to entertain Charles and keep him quiet during the service. He did good and made it the whole time. After church was snapped some pics and then headed home for a great lunch at our house with everyone. Charles hunted eggs and played with his Easter bubble toys. Everyone enjoyed the time with family, visiting and great food. I made a Butterfinger cake and will share this recipe soon. It was soooo good. I got this recipe from Kelly's Korner as well if you can't wait. It was super easy and keeps well in the fridge. Lena Kate's first Easter was wonderful and it was so nice for her to get to spend it with both sets of grandparents.

Grandpa Gary got lots of Lena Kate time this weekend. He put her to sleep on his shoulder. Go Grandpa Gary!

Charles' personal egg hunt. He was decked out and looked so cute.

This was Saturday night and Charles got some brownie and ice cream-a special treat. Aunt "Laine" took a few bites too:)
