Isn't It Funny

I was just baking cut-out sugar cookies for Easter and realized that the last time I baked them was the day I went into labor with Lena Kate. I was too uncomfortable with contractions to get them iced! I think I will always think about that day when baking these cookies. Isn't it funny how memories arise. Prior to that day-December 19, 2008 to be exact these cookies represented baking cookies for Santa and the Christmas party that we used to have at our house every year and brought back such fond memories. Now they have a new memory to add to that and that is the day Lena Kate was born!!! What a blessing she has been these last few months. Baking cookies is more fun with a little helper..and possibly a bit more challenging, but I wouldn't want it any other way. I haven't downloaded any new pics, but how about revisiting the sweet pic of her in her Easter dress.
I'm going to be surround by both sides of our family this Easter-how wonderful this weekend is going to be to celebrate the ultimate gift from God that is the true meaning of Easter.

On a side note Lena Kate slept for 6.5 hours last night straight....this is a new record! She was awake from about 6:30 on and she had cereal again. Of course it takes me 4 tries for every spoonful to get it to stay in her mouth. She is goo d at spitting it right back out, but she does get some down...about as much as she gets ALL over her. I sure hope the stars remain aligned and last night wasn't a fluke. Either way, I'm grateful for the longest rest I've had in about a year. God knew I was pretty tired this past week, I guess.
We also attend our first MOPS meeting this morning. My sweet friend Rachel invited me to join the group at her church. It was wonderful to meet with other Mothers of Pre-Schoolers. There was a speaker and small group discussion time. Lena Kate went to the nursery they provide on-site. It was so cute. They had it staffed with sweet grandmothers to rock, feed, and keep the little ones happy. It was a one-to-one ratio and you could tell these ladies just LOVED on the kiddos the whole time. I just wanted to take their picture..but didn't. She was hanging out with David (Rachel's son) for the few hours while Momma visited. What fun we had! Thanks Rachel for the invitation. It was a rewarding experience and good for both LK and myself.

Happy Easter and safe travels to all!
